About
A South African born ICT Executive with 22+ years of experience in Telecommunications and Technology Procurement, across Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
Over the past 12 years, held various procurement leadership positions in Vodafone/Vodacom Group, Veon Group and Ooredoo Group. These included CPO and Group Director roles, representing Procurement in Technology Leadership and Strategy Forums, defining and implementing Procurement and ERP Digital Transformation programs. Specialised experience with Digital Procurement and Enablement of Source-to-Settle (S2S) including systems, processes, operations, and support for multi-country procurement operations and group functions.
In addition, solid and proven experience in building and leading Technology Procurement teams while defining and executing category management strategies and leading complex, high value commercial and contractual sourcing projects. Extensive experience having delivered numerous telecommunications and technology sourcing projects ranging from mobile network technologies: 2G/3G/4G/5G Radio, Core, Transport, IT infrastructure, IT software, IT Professional Services, OSS/BSS/ESS, Digital Transformation, as well as Supply Chain Management and Real Estate categories.
Presently studying towards a Doctor of Business Administration at Henley Business School University of Reading, UK and thesis topic: Technology Acceptance of Enterprise Information Systems and Digital Transformation. The aim of the research is to improve usage and adoption of ERP/ESS Digital Transformation solutions in single and multinational organizations by engaging and incorporating People ahead of Technology and Processes.

1. Procurement Strategy: Developing and implementing tailored procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
2. Category Management: Analysing spend, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and optimizing supplier relationships.
3. Digital Procurement & Enablement: Leveraging technology to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and drive innovation. Including IS/IT support and management of digital procurement platforms.
4. Contract Management: Negotiating and managing high value and complex contracts to mitigate risks and maximize value.
5. Supplier Relationship Management: Building strong partnerships with suppliers to foster collaboration and performance.
6. ERP & Procurement Transformation: Leading organizational change to improve procurement capabilities and drive sustainable results. Defining global process design for S2C and P2P and aligning them to ERP/ESS technology solutions such as Oracle Cloud and SAP Ariba & S/4 HANA.
My experience includes, amongst other capabilities:
(a) successfully implemented procurement transformation initiative that resulted in >20% annual average savings for Vodacom Tanzania.
(b) extensive category management experience as Group Head of SCM IT at Vodacom Group and Director Technology Procurement at Ooredoo Qatar.
(c) successfully led ERP/ESS Digital Transformation and Digital Procurement initiatives for Group SCM at Veon Group (Oracle Cloud – 12 countries) and Group Procurement at Ooredoo Group as Group Director Sourcing Enablement & Digital Procurement (SAP Ariba & S/4 HANA – 8 countries).
